I have pretty good vision but I choose to wear fake glasses because it completes my look. I've been wearing glasses for a few years now and can't imagine my face without them. It's strange because I never liked wearing shades and now I have a small collection that is piling up in my room. Even though, shades are seen as warm weather accessories I plan on wearing mine throughout the fall season. The first three pairs I bought from paolalovestoshop and the last two pairs I got from FYE at the mall. FYE was having a buy 1 get 1 free deal so I pick up the John Lennon frames which was a great find.

My day started off with a birthday serenade from my little brother and Aunt leaving B-day messages on my phone. Then my mom took me and my sister to lunch followed by a small get together where we ate and had a couple of cocktails. My sister baked me a red velvet cake which was YUMMY!!! We also did the usual opening of cards and blowing out the candles. It was a great day.

What a wonderful birthday. I truly enjoyed myself. Thanks family for making my day.

This past Sunday was rather eventful. Usually on a Sunday I'm laying in bed watching my netflix rentals but this time I spent it in Harlem at the Fierce Subtlety fashion show. The show was called The City of Dreams
and it was very entertaining. I went with designer Tennille McMillan who's dresses along with several other accessory pieces were featured in the show.

The styling team of Miss Monét & JayKnowles were total sweethearts and styled the models wonderfully in amazing clothes. They are certainly a great talent and I cant wait to see more from them.

As everyone knows I'm interning for Loden Dager and this year I got the opportunity to participate in their show at Fashion Week. This was my first time at a Fashion Week event and I really enjoyed myself. The show was held at the Audi Showroom on Park Ave in New York City. I got there at 10am and had the chance to see all the seating arrangements and people preparing for the show. My job was basically to help out with seating, backstage and cleaning up after the show.

A couple of weeks a go she announced she needed an Assistant so I applied by sending her an email. After sending her the email she contacted me for an interview and now I'm an intern for Nakimuli. My Interview with Loden Dager

Yesterday I had an interview with a menswear company called Loden Dager on 29th street in NYC. I have to say I wasn't the most comfortable during the interview, not because I was nervous but because I had to climb 5 flights of stairs to get to the place. Those 5 flights threw me off my game. Once I met with Alex I was sweating like Whitney and babbling like Bobby. I feel like they may never call me back. I couldn't even remember who my favorite designers were (I'm not good with names). Anyway, the interview was for an internship helping them prep for fashion week which is coming up in February. Lawd, I pray they call me cause I would love to be apart of a collection showing at one of the biggest fashion events in NYC.

Even though I never really had any interest in Men's fashion, Loden Dager does have some great looks. The label is very new. I think Loden Danger could definitely breath some fresh air into the very boring men's fashion community. Hopefully, my interview went better then I thought and they give me a chance to intern for their label.

Remember when I was interning as a Stylist Assistant? That internship was so short I almost forgot till I saw the S/S 2010 collection from minimarket. I was introduced to minimarket during my internship and was drawn mostly to their shoes and accessories more than the clothes. Now I see how the full collection comes together for spring. The looks are simple, laid back and smart. Its differently the colors that push this collection in a fun and fresh direction.

Let me explain something. I like to change my nail color once a week. Unfortunately, for most nail polishes like OPI's Matte finish the color doesn't last. The reason is because you can't use a top coat on a matte finish. I also cant use soap, lotion or water either cause this is what my nails look like by day 3. Matte nail polish is really hot right now but it doesn't last and require you to reapply. I reapplied twice already and my nails still ended up looking like the nails pictured above. There's absolutely no matte on my nails at all. The nail color looks like regular glossy polish. That fact is OPI's matte color only last about 1 day maybe less.

This Spring I'm wearing nothing but oxfords on my feet. They are so classic and simple. No one wants to feel heavy in the warmer months. I'm almost over wearing Converses and Vans. Oxfords can be dressy and casual and that's why I'm opening my wallet for a pair of black and brown Steve Madden oxfords.

The one thing I like about the holidays is the after the holidays sales. Alloy.com like several other stores had a clearance sale and I pounced. Now that I'm surrounded by financial uncertainty I need all the discounts I can get. Above are the items I received in the mail today. Unfortunately, the last item (Ronson cropped tee) came in the wrong color and its on it way back tomorrow morning. I love African print and the first top has a African inspired feel to it. The second piece (Animal print cardigan) I just had to have cause I don't have any leopard pieces in my closet.

All I where is leggings. I haven't wore a pair of jeans in well over 2 years. I know that may sound crazy but um these leggings from MALU are the reasons why I may never go back to denim bottoms. What a fabulous collection. I just hope they make bigger sizes soon so I can buy a pair.
